Saint Agnes
Patron Saint of Engaged Couples, Chastity, Girls, Girl Scouts
Saint Agnes is one of the early martyrs mentioned in the Canon of the Mass. She was only 13 years of age when she was martyred during the
reign of Diocletian about the year 304.
Because she was rich and very beautiful Agnes had many suitors. For all she had the same answers: that she had consecrated her virginity to a
heavenly spouse. For this she was accused as a Christian and condemned to death.
Saint Agnes is a most popular Saint. Her relics are venerated in Rome in the Basilica that bears her name. She is a special patroness of purity.
Her feast is celebrated on January 21.

Never Polish a Religious Medal Unless
it is sterling silver you can touch.
All the major US religious medal manufacturers gold plate, silver plate, or
spray their medals with lacquer varnish (that grey look).
You should never polish lacquered medals, the ones with a gray or
dark look because the polish will bond with the varnish. Buffing off all the varnish
is near impossible.
We order some medals from the manufactuers RAW (no lacquer) and we buff and
polish them until they are gorgeous. In addition to just buffing we change the
shape of the medal round places where they are sharp. It is physically hard to do, and can
only do about 2 a day. These have RWMG in the item number.
Others we attempt to buff off the lacquer but we can never get it all off.
What size medal to select, the finish and other information
Most manufacturers use weak jump rings. Broderick recommends you put on our strong ones.
